Agriculture is the primary source of livelihood for many Africans. Over 70% of the population in most African countries including Zimbabwe is engaged in agricultural activities. Women. in particular, bear the brunt of back breaking work to feed their families.
With the advent of HIV/AIDS epidemic a lot of children have been orphaned and the fortunate ones have been admitted to orphanages throughout the country. We thank all the good people of the world who continue to donate and provide for these children.
Shamwari International would like to assist in the provision of food by teaching the children to produce their own food. This will not only reduce orphanages' reliance on donations for food but will also teach the children to "fish", so to say, and impart self-reliance skills to the children.
